The Kern Trophy for outstanding achievement in figure skating is awarded each year to an eligible skater who is a home club member in good standing of a New Jersey USFS figure skating club.

The award is made after due consideration of the accomplishments of each qualified skater during the calendar year from January 1st to December 31st.
